Four new coronavirus deaths in Scotland overnight as 764 new cases confirmed

coronavirus in Scotland in the past 24 hours, the Scottish Government has confirmed. The latest figures show there were 764 new coronavirus cases recorded overnight, bringing the total number of positive cases to 31,451 since the pandemic began.

The new deaths means the overall toll stands at 2,526. According to the data, 191 people are currently being treated in hospital with 23 in intensive care.

Yesterday, during her daily briefing about the virus from Edinburgh, the FM confirmed four more people had died from coronavirus over the previous 24-hour period, and there were 775 new cases.

The latest numbers come as Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard urged Sturgeon to support his calls for a petition to be started for shamed SNP MP.
