French President Emmanuel Macron has tested positive for Covid-19 - just a day after a meeting with the Prime Minister of Portugal.
The 42-year-old is isolating after showing symptoms for the virus, the French presidential palace said this morning. A statement said: "The President of the Republic has been diagnosed positive for Covid-19 today, Thursday. "This diagnosis was made following an RTPCR test performed at the onset of the first symptoms. "In accordance with current health regulations applicable to all, the President of the Republic will isolate himself for seven days. "He will continue to work and carry out his activities remotely."
