A fundraising campaign has been raised in memory of Manchester council’s late deputy leader Sue Murphy, whose funeral will take place this afternoon.
The fundraiser - which has already raised more than £4,000 - will split proceeds equally between Manchester Action on Street Health and homeless charities Coffee4Craig and Big Change Manchester, all them causes passionately supported by Coun Murphy.
Her death earlier this month at the age of 59 shocked both the town hall and people in the community who had known and worked with the Brooklands councillor, including many charities and Manchester College, where she was chair of governors.
