German expert says consuming alcohol can protect people from coronavirus

Look if you've noticed you're enjoying one too many wines amid social distancing and the coronavirusa lockdown - don't feel too bad about it.

An esteemed German virologist has claimed that downing whisky could possibly protect people from the  deadly nfection. Although the World Health Organisation has said that drinking alcohol does not protect you against COVID-19 infection - Dr Juergen Rissland, the head doctor at the Institute for Virology at Saarland University Hospital in Germany believes otherwise.

While appearing on TV show Health Issues, Dr Rissland was quizzed about the virus. At one stage, the presenter shared viewers questions - and one was curious if drinking alcohol would protect humans from any viruses.
