Manchester United have put themselves ahead of Arsenal in the race to sign £40m-rated defender Dayot Upamecano. The Red Devils emerged as contenders for the Frenchman’s signature after sending scouts to watch the Bundesliga talent earlier this month.
With one year left on his contract at RB Leipzig, the 21-year-old could be on the move this summer – and Arsenal were seen as his next club.
But France Football has reported that United have “overtaken” their rivals in the race for the defender. It comes as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to bolster his defensive options, with three set to head out of Old Trafford.
