A German resident has found a novel way to get his daily bread across the border between France and Germany during the coronavirus lockdown.
Baker Myriam Jansem-Boualit, from Carling in north-eastern France, has been delivering fresh baguettes and pastries to resident in a west German village, known as Lauterbach, since the border was closed on March 16 due to the pandemic.
She told AFP: "They don't dare to come anymore because there are police border controls. Before, there were a lot of Germans who came to buy bread." She said she had to leave her numbers to the customers and would only go to the frontier to deliver when they arrive.
