Two girls from West Lothian have been making care bags to hand out to the maternity ward at St John’s Hospital.Cousins, Lillie-Mai and Eilidh Redmond, from Blackburn have been saving their pocket money up to make the packages and have over 30 prepared already.Four year old, Mai, is due to start school at Blackburn Primary alongside her big cousin Eilidh, aged 11, this August and it was the younger cousin who came up with the idea.Her mum, Kayla, explained: “Lillie-Mai decided she wanted to help people who don’t have much money, so she was originally donating them to the homeless.“The pandemic was then announced and I was explaining to her that some people are unable to get out to the shops, so she asked if she could make some more bags up.“
