The police officer knifed during the Glasgow stabbing incident at a hotel is in stable condition, Police Scotland said. Constable David Whyte, 42, was one of six people injured during the incident at the Park Inn Hotel in West George Street on Friday.
PC Whyte, who has 13 years of service, tackled the knifeman with his taser after the attacker went on a rampage before being shot by armed police, the Daily Record reports.
The officer, who is married with two children, suffered serious injuries to his neck, abdomen and leg. Three asylum seekers staying at the Park Inn Hotel, where the incident took place, and two members of staff at the hotel were also injured in the attack.
