Gogglebox hit by 208 Ofcom complaints as fans slam 'breaking' of social distancing rules

208 complaints have been made to Ofcom about a perceived lack of social distancing on Gogglebox. The beloved Channel 4 series features ordinary people watching and providing commentary on the week's television from their living rooms.

However, due to the strict regulations in place regarding social distancing as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, many were unhappy with what they saw as people from different households appeared together on-screen.

Last month, Channel 4 sought to allay any fears with the announcer saying before episodes: "Just in case you're worried, they are all keeping to the guidelines of social distancing." Ultimately, however, 208 at home were unimpressed by what they were seeing and went on to complain
