Government 'could relax two-metre rule' after reviewing coronavirus evidence

Government advice requiring people to stay two metres apart to prevent the spread of coronavirus is being reviewed, according to reports.

The Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage) has been asked to consider the evidence for asking people to stay so far away from each other, the Daily Telegraph states.

Although current advice in the UK is to remain two metres from other people, the World Health Organisation advises a lesser distance of one metre.

The Telegraph claims that the social distancing rule is now a topic of "live discussion" as ministers map out a plan to ease lockdown restrictions.
