A 71-year-old grandfather has been driving six days a week delivering PPE to the NHS. Graham Knapp, of Loans, collects mask and gowns from Prestwick Airport and goes at it “hammer and tongs” to make sure staff get the vital equipment.
He loves his job and fearlessly carries out the essential work - even though those aged over 70 are considered at higher risk from Covid-19.
He said: “I am 71 and am still trucking away. I am honoured to be a part of supplying the NHS. We are all in this together. When I load up the lorry with PPE it reminds me of my former partner Sandra White who died five years ago.
