A 98-year-old Second World War hero fighting coronavirus has been re-admitted to hospital after doctors thought he had made a miraculous recovery.
Jack Bowden, from Bolton, was admitted to hospital with a suspected water infection early last week. During his stint in hospital, he was tested for Covid-19 and tested positive for the virus - an outcome his family were left stunned by as he "did not have any typical flu symptoms".
His family were devastated by the unexpected news, fearing that the illness would be 'the end' for the beloved great-grandfather of 10.
Mr Bowden's youngest child of four, Mark, who also runs the family-owned opticians, described the heart-breaking moment: "He was admitted to hospital on Monday afternoon last week. "H
