At least 165 people diagnosed with the Covid-19 virus have now died in hospitals across Greater Manchester, the NHS said on Friday.
Twenty-five more deaths have now been recorded, NHS England data published today showed. On Thursday, the figure was at least 140.
In the UK, there have been a total of 3,605 coronavirus deaths in hospitals - an increase of 684 people compared to NHS statistics published on Thursday.
It's the highest day-on-day rise since the outbreak began. Some of the larger trusts run several hospitals in Greater Manchester.
