Greece has enforced a strict night-time curfew on many popular islands, after the highest number of daily new cases was recorded since the pandemic started.
This means bars and restaurants in Mykonos, Santorini, Corfu, Rhodes, Zante and Crete will be closed from midnight until 7am, according to the Greek government.
The cities of Thessaloniki, Larissa, Volos and Katerini are also affected by the curfew - which will run until August 23. The nighttime ban may be extended to other areas selectively, the government has warned, depending on epidemiological data.
After keeping the number of cases and deaths low following an early lockdown, the popular holiday destination has seen a surge in cases.
