Gun shots were fired in Cheetham Hill as police investigate

Police have confirmed gun shots were fired in Cheetham Hill. Officers were called to Kelvin Grove after residents reported hearing shots fire in the early hours of the morning on Monday, May 11.

There were no reports of any injuries. A section of Kelvin Grove was sealed off with police tape throughout Monday. Officers could be seen within the police cordon combing the area for clues.

Following an investigation, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed evidence has been found consistent with a firearm discharge.

No further details have been released by GMP at this stage. The coronavirus outbreak has left many people across Greater Manchester struggling for access to food, basics and other support.
