Brits could find the cost of eating out on holiday about to soar post-pandemic. Restaurants and bars around the world have been forced to close for months due to government restrictions - and many remain shut even now.

And for those that have reopened, owners are still struggling as they are forced to limit their capacity due to social distancing rules.

Now in a bid to increase their sorely needed revenue, bars are looking at novel methods to increase their coffers. One bar in the Canary Islands is adding a "covid service" charge to each purchase, with some suggestions it covers the additional hygiene measures put in place.
