A businesswoman has turned her guesthouse into a sex-doll brothel to boost trade during the coronavirus pandemic. As scores of Hong Kong hotels face closure because of the drop in tourism, one woman is bucking the trend by cashing in on the recent popularity of the sex doll fetish.
The woman, who has not been named, had the light-bulb moment when meeting a friend that sells the realistic silicone dolls. She told the South China Morning Post: "I paid a visit to a friend’s place where he showed me a doll. "Then I thought to myself: ‘It’s quite interesting...’" From there she went on to seek the advice of "love hotel" app developer Kenneth Lee Wai-lin who has made money in the sex-doll brothel trade.
