Once the world’s biggest watch fair, Baselworld and its host city finally face their Waterloo This week saw the latest chapter in the deepening crisis of watch fair Baselworld.
Following the 2019 withdrawl of all 17 Swatch Group brands, the scrapping of the 2020 show due to Covid-19 and the subsequent departure of industry giants including Breitling, Seiko, Rolex, Patek Philippe, Chanel, Chopard, Bulgari, TAG Heuer and Hublot, Baselworld’s owners MCH Group have now cancelled the 2021 edition.
