The World Health Organization (WHO) has said most people infected with Covid-19 will 'have a mild disease and recover'. Those who do experience mild signs of the virus are being urged to self-isolate and stay at home to reduce the rate of transmission.
Common symptoms include a fever, dry cough, fatigue and shortness of breath, and those experiencing less extreme symptoms are being asked not to visit a GP, pharmacy or hospital.
Instead, you should recover at home and use the NHS 111 online service if you need medical advice. If you experience any symptoms, you should also self-isolate.
The less extreme symptoms can usually be managed at home - but you also need to be aware of when it is appropriate to seek medical help.
