The Archbishop of Canterbury’s Easter Sermon is one of the most significant moments of the Easter weekend. Justin Welby traditionally delivers his festive message in Canterbury Cathedral during the Easter Sunday Eucharist, in front of a 1,500-strong congregation.
This year things will be very different, with all cathedrals and churches closed to private and public worship as part of social distancing measures designed to contain the coronavirus.
This year the Archbishop will deliver his Easter Sunday sermon from the kitchen of his London flat. The clergyman has recorded his message on his iPad, and it will feature in the Church of England’s first national digital service.
