Hozier captivated the Irish public with his performance of The Parting Glass on RTÉ One's The Late Late Show last month, and now the song is set for success on the Official Irish Singles Chart.
The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (ISPCC) has reported three times the number of calls to its Childline since lockdown began, which Hozier addressed on the show, dedicating the song to children affected during the global pandemic.
Ireland's response to Hozier's take on the trad classic prompted the County Wicklow singer to release it as a charity single, with proceeds going to the ISPCC - The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
