The Health Service Executive will hold a briefing this morning as concerns continue to be raised about the suitability of Personal Protective Equipment.
Senior officials are likely to face further questions about the standard of some of the first batch of PPE which has arrived from China as part of a 200 million euro order.
They will also face questions about the capacity of intensive care units, particularly in the east of the country, to cope with the level of cases expected.
Yesterday, the Minister for Health, Simon Harris, announced a 72 million euro package of measures to support nursing homes where the number of clusters has continued to grow.
