Provisional figures from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HSPC) show that there were 63 Covid-19 deaths in Ireland last month.
This represents the lowest number of Covid deaths reported in a month in the country since July 2021, when there were 23 Covid-19 deaths reported.
The number of patients in hospital with the virus today is 289, which is an increase of 18 on yesterday's figures. Of those in hospital, 27 are in ICU, which is a rise of one on yesterday's figure.
The seven-day average positivity rate for PCR tests is currently 18%, which is up from 14% from a week ago. These figures come a day after a new study found high levels of moderate to severe depression and concerning alcohol use in people with Long Covid.
