Huge plans to create a vast new neighbourhood - with 1,500 homes, two hotels, a lido and floating gardens - have been approved for Salford Quays.
The new district - which will sit next to the Metrolink stop - will also include a climbing wall and a rooftop park. Some residents fear the new facilities could attract anti-social behaviour.
Ohers have that the plans - which include no affordable homes - will 'gentrify' the area. Salford’s planning panel approved the massive scheme in yesterday's (Thursday's) meeting.
It means 1,500 apartments will be built in the Quays across a series of towers - the highest of which will scale 48 storeys.
