Dozens of shoppers queued to get into a garden centre in Radcliffe as it reopened its doors today. The government ordered the closure of all non-essential shops, including garden centres, when the coronavirus lockdown was imposed in March.
But on Monday, the Prime Minister confirmed they could reopen as the nation moves into the next stage of the lockdown. Today, after seven weeks of being closed, the Newbank Garden Centre in Radcliffe opened its doors to customers.
Dozens of keen gardeners flocked to the centre on Bury Road to get their hands on plants, gardening tools and furniture. One shopper reported a queue of around 100 people at 9am, half an hour before the store opened.
