MUMBAI: India’s second largest carmaker Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has reported domestic sales of 26,300 units and exports of 5,979 units in March.
Affected by the nationwide lockdown as a result of the covid-19 outbreak, Hyundai’s March domestic and export volumes have declined 41% and 64% year-on-year (YoY), respectively.
The company had sold 44,350 units in the domestic market and its exports were at 16,800 units during March last year. The company saw a 11% YoY decline in its total domestic sales for the financial year ended 31 March to 485,309 units.
Its total domestic sales in FY2019 were at 545,243 units. However, the company performed better during 2019-20 in terms of exports.
