PHILADELPHIA - Westbound lanes of the Schuylkill Expressway are closed near Spring Garden Street after a tractor-trailer collided with a tanker truck causing fuel to spill onto the highway.

The apparent accident was first reported shortly after 4 a.m. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESPennsylvania State Police said a tractor-trailer carrying produce crashed into a Sunoco oil truck near Exits 344 and 342.

The collision caused the tanker to leak fuel onto the highway, according to police. Early morning rush hour traffic stretched back for miles as crews work to clear and clean up the crash.

PHILADELPHIA - No one was injured after a gunman opened fire on a Philadelphia police officer during a shootout Wednesday afternoon in Germantown.Philadelphia Police Sergeant Eric Gripp told reporters that two plainclothes officers in an unmarked car were patrolling the 4800 block of Keyser Street around 2 p.m. when they came upon a shootout between a 23-year-old and a 20-year-old.
