iHeartMedia Plans Furloughs as Leadership Takes Pay Cuts

To avoid layoffs during the coronavirus crisis, the world's biggest radio company, iHeartMedia, will furlough an unspecified number of employees for 90 days, Billboard has confirmed.

As well, chairman and CEO Bob Pittman will forgo his remaining 2020 salary and the senior management team will take 30–70% cuts in 2020 compensation. "Although we have had to make hard decisions to address the economic impact of the downturn, our management team has found ways to reduce our company's expenses without resorting to permanent layoffs," reads an note to employees from Pittman and president, CFO and COO Richard J.
