WASHINGTON - More than 200 million Americans are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, a notable milestone reached as cases and hospitalizations increase again in the U.S.
and the worrisome omicron variant continues rapidly spreading across the globe. The new figure accounts for about 60.5% of the total population and encompasses all ages who are eligible to receive a vaccine, which is currently individuals as young as 5.
The data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also shows that nearly 50 million people have already received a booster dose.
