Serie A football is getting closer to a return with the Italian government allowing teams to resume training. The government had originally said that only athletes from individual sports would be allowed to recommence training from today with team sports having been scheduled for May 18.
However national interior minister Matteo Piantedosi has now stated that training grounds can be opened providing that social distancing guidelines are followed.
It comes after a decision from the regional assembly of Emilia-Romagna to bring their date forward, which would have allowed just Sassuolo, Bologna, Parma and SPAL to return to training.
