Jim Goodwin says St Mirren players have done club proud by sticking to coronavirus rules

Jim Goodwin is proud of his young players for resisting the temptation to celebrate big wins and break coronavirus rules. Scottish football was dragged back in front of the attention of First Minister Nicola Sturgeon after a number of Rangers players allegedly attended a house party over the weekend.

The Buddies have had their own issues with coronavirus outbreaks at the club this season, but manager Goodwin says he’s delighted his stars haven’t brought the club or the game into disrepute by flouting the rules off the pitch.

He told Express Sport: “I don’t hold Steven Gerrard or Rangers responsible for this. The players who are involved in it need to take full accountability for their actions. “No doubt Rangers will punish them financially.
