John Stapleton pays tribute to wife Lynn Faulds Wood and her 'amazing legacy'

John Stapleton has opened up about the death of his wife Lynn Faulds Wood. Former Watchdog presenter Lynn died in April aged 72 after suffering a 'massive stroke'.

John, who presented Watchdog alongside her as well as GMTV, says his wife suddenly fell ill after the family took part in the now weekly Clap For Carers.

Speaking on today's Lorraine, John, from Oldham, explained what happened. He told host Lorraine Kelly: "We came back in, all the neighbours were gathered round to clap for the NHS and she was there as enthusiastic as ever, we came back in, we sat down and watched a movie on television, and she tried to get up from the sofa and she collapsed.
