Jonathan Tiffoney hit with SFA charge over alleged David Cox mental health slur

SFA over an alleged mental health slur which saw Albion Rovers’ David Cox walk out a match and retire. The 29-year-old has been hit with a notice of complaint for excessive misconduct following the incident during a League Two match at Ochilview on April 29.

Tiffoney was accused of mocking Cox who left the stadium at half-time and announced his retirement from the game shortly afterwards.The SFA immediately launched an investigation into the incident - with Tiffoney denying the allegations and claiming he was the victim of abuse from the Rovers dug out.Cox, 32, has previously spoken out about his battle with depression.
