A pub landlady and brewery firm are set to go on trial after the death of a customer. Elaine Horrocks, 54, fell down the cellar steps of the Rosehill Tavern, in Westhoughton, during a night out on January 13 2018.

She later died in hospital. READ MORE: Vile men lured woman into house, then imprisoned and raped her in 11-hour horror ordeal During a hearing at Bolton Crown Court today (February 1) Kellie McGarry, 49, of The Crescent, Westhoughton, denied breaching two health and safety laws.

One of the counts was failing to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of her employees.

It related to an alleged failure to carry out a suitable risk assessment of the entry and egress of the cellar between September 11 2017 and January 13 2018.
