Kilmarnock charity hands out free meals to heroic NHS staff at Crosshouse Hospital

Heroic NHS staff in East Ayrshire have been enjoying a free meal thanks to a kind-hearted charity. The South Kilmarnock Community Fund (KSCF) teamed up with local food preparation service PH Prep to provide dinners to workers on the coronavirus frontline – with meals being dished out to hard-working Crosshouse Hospital staff as well as members of the ambulance service.

A&E staff nurse Lauren Speirs told the Kilmarnock Standard: “There’s every chance that very shortly we’re going to be working long shifts and doing extra hours; so it’s great to know there’s some extra food there for us.” Healthcare workers are in the eye of the COVID-19 storm with cases of the disease on the rise across the NHS Ayrshire & Arran region.KSCF member Ben Manus
