Laois, Offaly, Kildare businesses to get extra supports

Businesses in Laois, Offaly and Kildare are expected to be provided with extra grant aid of up to €5,000 to help mitigate the impact of the local restrictions in the region.

A package of economic supports to help businesses in the three counties will be announced later today. Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Michael McGrath and Tánaiste Leo Varadkar will later announce a package of supports for these businesses.

RTÉ News understands that it is likely to include a 20% top-up to the restart plus grant scheme, which was announced in the July stimulus plan.

Those grants already range between €4,000 and €25,000. It means a proposed top-up for businesses in these three counties would amount to a once-off payment of between €800 and
