Leagues One and Two 'to be abandoned' as clubs devise method for deciding placings

The League One and League Two seasons are set to be curtailed early next week, with a weighted points-per-game (PPG) system looking likely to be used to decided the final tables.

While the Premier League's Project Restart continues to be broadly supported by most of the clubs, and the Championship are also keen to get get going again, there would appear to be little to no chance of any more football at third and fourth tier level in England amid the coronavirus crisis.

According to a report from The Athletic, the English Football League are set to inform the 47 clubs that their seasons are over early next week, when they will be invited to vote upon the methods used to decide the final standings, with no playoffs to take place.
