A woman who was made redundant during the pandemic applied for more than 250 jobs before finding one - and has described the process as ‘soul destroying’.

Caroline, 59, was working as a legal secretary when Covid took hold last year and she was made redundant. She was determined to find work again and applied for more than 250 jobs, but with no success.

Concerned that her age may be working against her, Caroline signed up to the Working Well Work and Health Programme Job Entry Targeted Support service (WHP JETS).

The scheme has helped thousands of people find jobs, training opportunities and wellbeing support in Greater Manchester during the pandemic and is being extended until 2023.
