BAFTA bosses have snubbed some of Britain’s best-loved TV shows and stars in favour of a stream of high-brow nominations. BBC blockbuster Line of Duty was ignored for Best Drama while ITV hits Britain’s Got Talent and Dancing On Ice failed to make the Entertainment list.
Gavin & Stacey failed to be nominated in the Scripted Comedy category, despite pulling in 11.6 million viewers on Christmas Day.
The show picked up a single nomination, for “Must-See Moment”, as did Line of Duty, 2019’s most-watched drama. The Beeb’s Japanese cop series Giri/Haji is up for Drama Series — but Peaky Blinders was also ignored.
