Liverpool have made contact with Napoli over long-time Manchester United transfer target Kalidou Koulibaly, according to reports from Italy.
Highly-rated defender Koulibaly has long been a target for United, who need to find a long-term partner for captain Harry Maguire.
But Jurgen Klopp's side are also in need of defensive reinforcements, and Liverpool fans will be licking at their lips at the prospect of the Senegal ace lining up alongside Virgil van Dijk.
And the Reds have approached Napoli over a deal for the Serie A club's star defender, according to Tuttomercatoweb. The Italian outlet says Napoli may have to sell Koulibaly due to the financial impact of the coronavirus crisis, with the sixth-placed club unlikely to qualify for
