Local authority home loan borrowers are being offered another payment break because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Minister for Housing Darragh O'Brien said borrowers could avail of a three-month break following on from three previous breaks totalling nine months. "Given the continuing economic turbulence associated with Covid-19, some local authority home loan borrowers continue to face difficulties in paying their mortgage or have very real fears that they will face repayment problems in the future." He said borrowers have until 31 March to apply and will not face any additional costs.
