8th Army Contingent for UN South Sudan’s SRIMED Hospital Ready for Departure
COLOMBO (News 1st); The 8th contingent of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC), set to leave for United Nations Peace-Keeping Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) to serve the Level-2 SRIMED Hospital hours before their departure presented a ceremonial salute to General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army at the SLAMC Regimental Headquarters ground at Werahera on Friday (24).The 8th South Sudan bound contingent, commanded by Major D.Y.S Kumara is made up of 62 Army personnel, including 4 Medical specialists and 9 Officers.The contingent includes Ward In-Charge, nurses, critical care nurses (gynaecological), operation theatre technician, Physiotherapists (DPM), radiographer, X-ray technician, radiologist, dentist
