Special measures are being taken to ensure the Queen’s safety as she addresses the nation amid the coronavirus crisis. The monarch’s camera operator wore full personal protective equipment while recording a historic speech, which is set to be broadcast on Sunday at 8pm.
During the address, the Queen is expected to evoke a “wartime spirit” and pay tribute to medics risking their lives as they battle Covid-19.
Advice was sought from Her Majesty’s personal doctors on what measures should be taken to reduce the risk of infection before the message was filmed.
The speech, which will go out to millions across the UK and in the Commonwealth, was pre-recorded at Windsor Castle earlier this week, where the 93-year-old Queen is currently staying
