Ayrshire COVID-19 vaccine drop-in centre has been overwhelmed today as residents eagerly snapped up first jabs. The Dreghorn vaccination centre was welcoming anyone over the age of 18 to head along – but stewards were turning some folk away at 3.45pm saying the queues were "too long".The village was almost at a complete standstill due to traffic lined up out on to the main road, combined with motorists diverting due to the A71 to Irvine being closed. One person who travelled from East Ayrshire in an attempt to get a vaccine at 3.50pm told Ayrshire Live: "It took me over 30 minutes to get from Kilmarnock to Dreghorn due to the traffic."When we got there, we were queued out onto the main road; then we were told queues would be over two hours,.
