Manchester City could discover next month whether their appeal against their two-year European ban has been successful. The Court of Arbitration for Sport began hearing City’s appeal for allegedly breaching UEFA’s Financial Play Play rules by video conference at their headquarters in Lausanne on Monday.
The case is expected to last three days and CAS general secretary Matthieu Reeb says they could now deliver their verdict in July - and before City are due to resume their Champions League campaign.
City and UEFA’s legal teams are presenting their cases by video link and Reeb said the technology is working well. “The hearing has started well and the video conference is working well,” he said.
