Manchester City are in advanced talks with Barcelona for right-back Nelson Semedo in a deal which would see Joao Cancelo go the other way, according to reports.

City spent £60million to bring Cancelo to the Etihad from Juventus in the summer, though half of the fee was regained with Brazilian Danilo heading in the opposite direction.

The 25-year-old arrived with the hope of pushing established right-back Kyle Walker out of the team but he has struggled for first-team minutes during his debut campaign in the Premier League.

Cancelo has made just eight Premier League starts and over half of his appearances have come in cup competitions, though he was completely left out of the squad that was victorious in the Carabao Cup final.
