Manchester United have come on leaps and bounds since Harry Maguire was named captain in January - which could be a result of his attempts to unify the squad behind the scenes.
Maguire, 27, only sealed an £80m move to Old Trafford in the previous summer transfer window. Just five months after becoming the world’s most expensive defender, though, he was handed the United captaincy by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following the January departure of Ashley Young to Inter Milan.
And according to The Times, Maguire has tried to bring a multinational Red Devils squad closer together ever since taking the armband.
The England centre-back is said to have made team bonding sessions, which were sparsely attended in the past, compulsory for all players.
