Manchester United could hijack Liverpool’s efforts to sign Timo Werner after reportedly opening talks with the German’s representatives.
The RB Leipzig forward has been linked with a move to Anfield for months and the player has made no secret of his desire to work with Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds were also thought to be keen on signing the 24-year-old but a deal now seems uncertain due to the coronavirus pandemic.
German outlet Bild reported on Monday that Liverpool remains Werner's preferred destination but they have now claimed that the Red Devils have entered talks with Werner's agent.
