The MEN reported in January the 23-year-old Dutch international was on a list of potential targets for the summer window and United’s interest appears to have intensified given Van der Sar’s comments.

Speaking to Dutch outlet NOS, the former goalkeeper, who spent six seasons at Old Trafford, said: "It’s clear clubs like Real Madrid and United are showing interest in Donny van.
