The benchmark Sensex opened over 1050 points higher at 31,656.68. Nifty on the other hand added about 300 points at 9,323.45.
India's largest IT services provider TCS gained 3% in the opening trade. Axis Bank was the top gainer on the 30-share Sensex, surging up to 7%, followed by IndusInd Bank, HDFC and Bajaj Finance.
